Mr. Tan Boon Kee is the last of the street barber in Singapore. He started his haircut on Aliwal street through the introduction of a friend. The early rise Aliwal street is also called barber street. Besides Mr. Tan, there are many street barbers who operate the barber business together. However, times has passed. Many street barbers who fought together have left or retired on after another. Today, only Mr. Tan is still sticking to his job, cutting hair for regular customers who comes to Aliwal Street.
